Since its 1985 debut, Windows has evolved tremendously. Beyond everyday operation, hidden functionalities offer advanced users significant control. This guide explores God Mode and its enhanced counterpart, Super God Mode, providing quick access to virtually every system setting. These tools act as powerful, customized Start menus for experienced users.
Accessing God Mode
God Mode doesn't grant divine powers, but it does provide streamlined access to crucial system components. Manage printers, adjust accessibility settings, and view connected internet devices—all from one central location.
- Right-click an empty area on your desktop.
- Select New, then Folder.
- Rename the folder to "GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}" (without quotes).
- Press Enter. The icon will change to resemble the classic Control Panel.
- Double-click the icon to open the God Mode window.
This window offers a wealth of shortcuts (expand sections using the small arrows). Manage disk space, create user accounts, configure hardware, and much more. For example, uninstall programs by double-clicking "Uninstall a program," viewing installation dates, developers, and space usage. Uninstall unwanted applications directly from this list.
Explore the numerous options at your leisure. It's entirely safe; it's simply a collection of shortcuts. Remove the desktop shortcut to disable God Mode.
Unlocking Super God Mode
Once you've mastered God Mode, take it a step further with Super God Mode. This isn't a native Windows feature; it requires a third-party download.
- Create a new folder (name it anything you prefer).
- Download the PS1 and BAT files from [link to download page - replace bracketed information with actual link]. Place these files in the newly created folder.
- Run the BAT file. If a security warning appears, click More info, then Run anyway. This is a trusted program with publicly available source code.
- Configure Super God Mode options (optional). These settings control which shortcuts are included. Accept defaults if desired, then click Run Script.
- Close the command prompt once the setup is complete.
- Launch the Super God Mode shortcut from the folder.
Super God Mode expands upon God Mode's functionality, adding shortcuts to contacts, OneDrive music folders, sleep settings, and more. While some features overlap, Super God Mode offers a significantly broader range of options. Consult the included help file for detailed instructions and explanations. Delete the folder to remove Super God Mode.
