In the wake of Minrathous getting attacked by a dragon and your choice to aid Treviso first in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, things are more than grim. The Venatori have taken over the city and forced the Shadow Dragons into hiding, and their brutality is evident everywhere you look.

It's no time to abandon the city or its people, but in the wake of the Venatori's takeover, the Shadow Dragon has all but disappeared despite their constant presence in the city before. They wouldn't have just given up their crusade to end slavery, and it's up to you to find out what's happened to them.

How To Find Evidence Of The Shadow Dragons

This quest is only available if you go with Lucanis to Treviso instead of Minrathous after both locations are attacked by dragons.

Upon arriving at Dock Town, you'll have a fight inside the Shadow Dragon's headquarters against an Unstoppable Executioner if you haven't visited before.

They don't have any armor, but they have high HP and damage, so use combo-able Companion skills against them, and they'll go down quickly.

Go out to the store attached to the building, and read the note in the pool of blood near the stall for the first hint of what's happened.

Due to the changes in the city, you'll have to rediscover all the fast travel beacons except for the one in the Shadow Dragon's headquarters.

Navigate to a portion of the market on the upper-east side of Dock Town, and look for a note behind some wooden scaffolding in a corner past the stalls, near where one of the murder victims is for the In Memoriam quest. Read it, and you'll get a hint about where to go next.

Where To Find Dockside Jail

Next, go back to the bridge near the market and head north through the courtyard with the memorial, then keep following the path east through the buildings until you reach the northern docks, taking out the few groups of Venatori along the way.

As soon as you arrive, you'll have three more Venatori to deal with: one armored mage and then two soldiers. Kill them, then examine the body on the ground by them.

You can begin encountering non-boss versions of the Unstoppable Executioner, and they have a similar movement, with quick attacks and frequent teleportation.

It's over to the southwestern docks now, and if you haven't unlocked the fast travel beacons there yet, you'll have to make your way down to it from the Shadow Dragon's headquarters beacon.

Kill the Venatori on the way to the large room on the western side, and you'll find two doors blocked by blood magic crystals; one is an exit and the other is the main door, with three shielding crystals floating above it.

When you start to get rid of the smaller crystals, a group of Venatori will ambush you from behind, and you'll need to stop breaking them to fight.

Once they're dead, break whichever crystals are left, then go inside the jail and investigate the bodies on the floor to complete the quest. This time you won't get any EXP or Gold for it, but you will get 100 Reputation with the Shadow Dragons.
