Second 'Gundam Hathaway' Movie Gets A New Trailer And Winter Release

The first Gundam Hathaway movie premiered in 2021 and marked the beginning of a trilogy adapting the novels penned by Yoshiyuki Tomino.
Set after the events of Char’s Counterattack, it followed Bright Noa’s son, Hathaway, as he leads a new resistance group known as Mafty against the increasingly corrupt Federation.
For years, it was believed that Tomino’s Hathaway’s Flash novels were unadaptable, but Shūkō Murase managed to bring them to life brilliantly with the first film, and it seems likely he will do the same with the second installment.
It does appear, however, that the second film, titled The Sorcery of Nymph Circe, may diverge somewhat from the original novels. Based on how the first film handled its adaptation, I suspect this might be more of a condensed version of the story rather than a complete departure.
One point of confusion is that both the English trailer (seen below) and Japanese trailer mention a “Next Winter” release date. Yet, the description accompanying the Japanese trailer suggests the film will arrive this Winter, which makes more sense considering the previous movie debuted in 2021.
What I truly hope for is that this upcoming Gundam Hathaway film secures a theatrical release in the United States and Europe.
I watched the first film in theaters, and it left a powerful impression—especially the scenes depicting mobile suit combat from the perspective of civilians caught in the chaos, desperately trying to flee.
In any case, the second Gundam Hathaway film is finally on its way, and judging from the trailer alone, it could be just as impressive as the first.
