PHP File Processing - Open/Close File

What is file processing?

File processing includes reading, closing, rewriting, etc. Mastering file processing requires readers to clarify their thinking and master the key steps and common functions of file processing, so that they can use it freely!

For example, accessing a file requires 3 steps: opening the file, reading and writing the file, and closing the file. Other operations on files are either included in reading and writing files (such as displaying content, writing content, etc.), or are related to the attributes of the file itself (such as file traversal, file renaming, etc.). So starting from this article, we will give a detailed introduction to commonly used file processing technologies.

In today’s article, we will first introduce Opening/closing files. To open and close files, use the fopen() function and fclose() function. You should be extremely careful when opening files, because you may delete all the contents of the file if you are not careful.

1: Open the file

When operating a file, the first thing we have to do is open the file. This is The first step in data access. Use the fopen() function to open a file in PHP. The syntax of the fopen() function is as follows:

resource fopen ( string $filename , string $mode [, bool $use_include_path = false [, resource $context ]] )

The parameter filename is the file name containing the path to be opened, which can be a relative path or an absolute path. If there is no prefix on the side, it means that the local file is being opened. The parameter mode is the way to open the file. The possible values ??are as follows:

modeMode nameDescription
rRead onlyRead mode—read, the file pointer is at the beginning of the file
r+Read and writeRead and write mode—read For reading and writing, the file pointer is at the beginning of the file. Writing before the end of the contents of an existing file will overwrite the original
WWrite onlyWrite mode—write Enter the file, and the file pointer points to the header file. If the file exists, all file contents are deleted, otherwise the function will create the file
w+Read and writeRead and write mode—for reading When writing, the file pointer points to the header file. If the file exists, all file contents are deleted, otherwise the function will create the file
xWrite with cautionOpen the file in write mode, from the file Start writing. If the file already exists, the file will not be opened, the function returns false, and PHP will generate a warning
x+Write with caution Open the file in read/write mode and start writing from the beginning of the file. If the file already exists, the file will not be opened, the function returns false, and PHP will generate a warning
aAppendAppend mode Open the file, and the file pointer points to the tail file. If the file already has content, it will be appended from the end of the file. If the file does not exist, the function will create the file
a+AppendOpen the file in append mode, and the file pointer points to the header file. If the file already has content, it will be appended or read from the end of the file. If the file does not exist, the function will Create this file
bbinaryBinary mode - used to connect with other modes. This may be used if the file system can differentiate between binary files and text files. Windows can differentiate; UNIX does not. This option is recommended for maximum portability. It is the default mode
ttext used in combination with other modes. This mode is only an option under Windows

對文件的操作結(jié)束后應(yīng)該關(guān)閉這個(gè)文件,否則可能會(huì)引起錯(cuò)誤。在 PHP 中使用 fclose()函數(shù)關(guān)閉文件,該函數(shù)的語法格式如下;

bool fclose ( resource $handle )

<?php
header("Content-Type:text/html; charset=utf-8");
$f_open = fopen("../file.txt","rb"); // 打開文件

PHP Syntax: The Basics PHP Syntax: The Basics Jul 15, 2025 am 02:46 AM

The basic syntax of PHP includes four key points: 1. The PHP tag must be ended, and the use of complete tags is recommended; 2. Echo and print are commonly used for output content, among which echo supports multiple parameters and is more efficient; 3. The annotation methods include //, # and //, to improve code readability; 4. Each statement must end with a semicolon, and spaces and line breaks do not affect execution but affect readability. Mastering these basic rules can help write clear and stable PHP code.

python if else example python if else example Jul 15, 2025 am 02:55 AM

The key to writing Python's ifelse statements is to understand the logical structure and details. 1. The infrastructure is to execute a piece of code if conditions are established, otherwise the else part is executed, else is optional; 2. Multi-condition judgment is implemented with elif, and it is executed sequentially and stopped once it is met; 3. Nested if is used for further subdivision judgment, it is recommended not to exceed two layers; 4. A ternary expression can be used to replace simple ifelse in a simple scenario. Only by paying attention to indentation, conditional order and logical integrity can we write clear and stable judgment codes.
