Records of the entire process of building a WordPress blog from scratch on CentOS system, centoswordpress

Overview

I recently bought a server and am planning to set up a personal blog to continuously update my blog,

Environment

 • Server operating system: CentOS 7.0
 • Blog deployment server: Apache
 • Backend language: PHP
 • Database: MySql
 • Front-end framework: WordPress

Steps

1. Install Apache

Installing Apache is very simple, just enter the following command in the terminal:

sudo yum install httpd

sudo means what to do with the root user, yum install means online installation; then enter yes to confirm the download and installation.

After the installation is complete, we need to start the service:

sudo service httpd start

After starting the server, don’t worry about it yet. You can directly enter the server’s IP address in the browser, and you should be able to see the Apache welcome page.

This page is used to test the operation of the Apache HTTP server after it has been installed………etc.

If your IP address has been bound to a domain name, you can also access it by entering your domain name in the browser. Isn’t it cool? It’s that simple. Let’s continue.

2. Install MySql

Install MySql and start MySql

sudo yum install mysql-server

sudo service mysqld start

You can install and start mysql through the above command. When installing mysql, you will be asked for some simple configurations. Enter enter and yes and you will be fine.

3. Install PHP and related PHP components

Install PHP first

sudo yum install php php-mysql

Install PHP related components

yum install php-gd php-imap php-ldap php-odbc php-pear php-xml php-xmlrpc

I installed these components first for future use. If you want to know all PHP components, you can use the following command to search:

yum search php-

4. Apache and Mysql services are started by default when booting

Use the following command to choose to start Apache and Mysql at boot:

sudo chkconfig http on

sudo chkconfig mysql on

5. Test whether PHP is installed successfully

Create an info.php file:

sudo vim /var/www/html/info.php

Then enter i to enter edit mode and write the following PHP command in the file:

<?php
phpinfo();
?>

Then press the esc key to enter the command mode, press the Shift key and the z key twice to exit the saved file.

Enter the IP address/info.php in the browser, for example: 123.56.183.34/info.php and press Enter to see the PHP information.

6. Download WordPress

You can go to https://wordpress.org/ official website to browse, or download through the following command:

wget http://cn.wordpress.org/wordpress-3.9-zh_CN.zip

7. Decompression

Use unzip to unzip the file:

unzip wordpress-3.8-zh_CN.zip

8. Create a new database in Mysql

mysql -u root -p

Enter the database through the above command, and then enter the password: password

Then create a database called wordpress

create database wordpress;

9. Modify the wp-content.php file

Modify the wp-content.php file as follows,

/** MySQL數(shù)據(jù)庫名:wordpress */
define(‘DB_NAME', ‘wordpress');
/** MySQL數(shù)據(jù)庫用戶名 :root*/
define(‘DB_USER', ‘root');
/** MySQL數(shù)據(jù)庫密碼 :password*/
define(‘DB_PASSWORD', ‘password');
/** MySQL主機(不用修改) */
define(‘DB_HOST', ‘localhost');

10. Copy the file to the /var/www/html directory

cp -rf wordpress/* /var/www/html/

11. Test

Enter the server’s IP in the browser to view your homepage.

How to get the current session ID in PHP? How to get the current session ID in PHP? Jul 13, 2025 am 03:02 AM

The method to get the current session ID in PHP is to use the session_id() function, but you must call session_start() to successfully obtain it. 1. Call session_start() to start the session; 2. Use session_id() to read the session ID and output a string similar to abc123def456ghi789; 3. If the return is empty, check whether session_start() is missing, whether the user accesses for the first time, or whether the session is destroyed; 4. The session ID can be used for logging, security verification and cross-request communication, but security needs to be paid attention to. Make sure that the session is correctly enabled and the ID can be obtained successfully.

PHP get substring from a string PHP get substring from a string Jul 13, 2025 am 02:59 AM

To extract substrings from PHP strings, you can use the substr() function, which is syntax substr(string$string,int$start,?int$length=null), and if the length is not specified, it will be intercepted to the end; when processing multi-byte characters such as Chinese, you should use the mb_substr() function to avoid garbled code; if you need to intercept the string according to a specific separator, you can use exploit() or combine strpos() and substr() to implement it, such as extracting file name extensions or domain names.

How to split a string into an array in PHP How to split a string into an array in PHP Jul 13, 2025 am 02:59 AM

In PHP, the most common method is to split the string into an array using the exploit() function. This function divides the string into multiple parts through the specified delimiter and returns an array. The syntax is exploit(separator, string, limit), where separator is the separator, string is the original string, and limit is an optional parameter to control the maximum number of segments. For example $str="apple,banana,orange";$arr=explode(",",$str); The result is ["apple","bana

JavaScript Data Types: Primitive vs Reference JavaScript Data Types: Primitive vs Reference Jul 13, 2025 am 02:43 AM

JavaScript data types are divided into primitive types and reference types. Primitive types include string, number, boolean, null, undefined, and symbol. The values are immutable and copies are copied when assigning values, so they do not affect each other; reference types such as objects, arrays and functions store memory addresses, and variables pointing to the same object will affect each other. Typeof and instanceof can be used to determine types, but pay attention to the historical issues of typeofnull. Understanding these two types of differences can help write more stable and reliable code.

Using std::chrono in C Using std::chrono in C Jul 15, 2025 am 01:30 AM

std::chrono is used in C to process time, including obtaining the current time, measuring execution time, operation time point and duration, and formatting analysis time. 1. Use std::chrono::system_clock::now() to obtain the current time, which can be converted into a readable string, but the system clock may not be monotonous; 2. Use std::chrono::steady_clock to measure the execution time to ensure monotony, and convert it into milliseconds, seconds and other units through duration_cast; 3. Time point (time_point) and duration (duration) can be interoperable, but attention should be paid to unit compatibility and clock epoch (epoch)

How to pass a session variable to another page in PHP? How to pass a session variable to another page in PHP? Jul 13, 2025 am 02:39 AM

In PHP, to pass a session variable to another page, the key is to start the session correctly and use the same $_SESSION key name. 1. Before using session variables for each page, it must be called session_start() and placed in the front of the script; 2. Make sure that session_start() is called on each page, avoid outputting content in advance, and check that the session storage path on the server is writable; 5. Use ses
