Spreading Santorum drops on Google

In 2012, the webpage "Spreading Santorum," which described “santorum” as a residue of anal sex, was finally removed from the top search results on Google.

However, the original anti-Santorum website persisted. Additionally, an entry on Urban Dictionary maintained the explicit definition, even more so than before.

Google informed Search Engine Land that this shift in rankings was due to enhancements in its SafeSearch algorithm, making it less likely for unrelated adult content to appear prominently in many searches.
