Crafting Lockpicks
Where to Use Lockpicks
When exploring the palaces in Persona 5: The Phantom X, you’ll come across many chests containing valuable loot. A fair number of these chests will require a Lockpick to open. Whether you're entering a palace for the first time or revisiting it in the post-game exploration mode, it’s essential to always carry a sufficient number of Lockpicks to ensure access to some of the best rewards.
Crafting Lockpicks
Materials are easy to obtain and available early in the game.
To begin crafting your own lockpicks, visit the Secondhand Shop first. There, purchase the following three materials in bulk so you can create as many lockpicks as needed. It's important to acquire these materials as soon as possible.
Material | Cost |
---|---|
Aluminum Sheet | 100 Yen |
Mercury | 500 Yen |
Moissanite | 1,200 Yen |
Once you've gathered all the necessary materials, return to your room and use the Workbench. In the workbench menu, select the option for lockpicks and specify how many you want to make. It's recommended to craft a large batch at once, with 10 being a good number to keep on hand while exploring palaces. This way, you can open every locked chest you encounter and collect the best items each palace has to offer.
Also, remember to take time working jobs to earn extra yen, which will allow you to regularly buy more materials from the Secondhand Shop and continue crafting new items whenever needed.
Where to Use Lockpicks
Locked chests are where you'll put your lockpicks to use.
Now that you have your lockpicks, you can explore freely without worrying about missing out on hidden treasures. When you come across a chest that glows differently and shows a secondary prompt indicating the need for a lockpick, you’ve found the right one.
These chests often contain high-quality items that will benefit you throughout your journey. Possible rewards include training materials, weapon reinforcement items, Konpaku Gems, Meta Jewels, and even 4-Star Weapons. Although crafting lockpicks costs money, the rewards are well worth the investment, helping your Phantom Thieves grow stronger.
