Today's Connections hint and answer on 6th July for 756
Jul 07, 2025 am 01:07 AMRelaxing with a puzzle? Chilling out before a new work week? Whatever you're doing on Sunday, here's the Connections answer for today, 6th July.
If you're new to the game, Connections asks you to sort 16 words into four groups where each group shares a common link. This could be similar meanings, parts of a phrase, or even something more obscure like objects found in a particular location.
While it might seem straightforward, there are different difficulty levels - Yellow being the easiest and Purple the hardest. So, while one group might jump out at you immediately, another may leave you scratching your head. That's why we're here to help!
Originally created during The New York Times' annual game jam, Connections entered beta in June 2023. It has since become one of the most popular games from The NYTimes, second only to Wordle. Some say it bears a resemblance to the BBC's Only Connect...
Hint for today's Connections answer
Let's start with some hints before revealing the full solution:
- Yellow - These items are typically placed in a very hot environment before completion.
- Green - Words that describe small bits or pieces.
- Blue - All have been associated with the title DR.
- Purple - One word refers to a well-known theme park, which sounds like a part of the leg.
- Blue also contains a famous fizzy beverage.
Use these clues to try and find the connections before scrolling down to the answers.
Connection words for 6th July
Here are today's 16 words. Try to make sense of them using the hints above:
Ceramics | Grain | Morsel | Prussian |
Shred | China | Decaf | Disney |
Dre | Evil | Pottery | Crumb |
Crypto | Pepper | Seuss | Ware |
Connections answer for 6th July
Here's the solution to today's Connections puzzle:
- Fired Objects - Ceramics, China, Pottery, Ware.
- Particle - Crumb, Grain, Morsel, Shred.
- DRs - Dre, Evil, Pepper, Seuss.
- Ending homophones of parts of the leg - Crypto, Decaf, Disney, Prussian.
I struggled through this one, but I particularly enjoyed the Blue category. Each word represents a "Dr" in some form – yet they’re all wildly different. That’s what makes Connections so fun.
What to play after Connections?
The obvious choice is Wordle, but if you've already played that, The New York Times offers several other games including Mini Crossword, Spelling Bee, Letter Boxed, and Strands (which is still in beta). If you want a break from words, try Tiles or Sudoku.
Outside of The NYTimes, check out Semantle, where you guess based on meaning rather than spelling. Another great alternative is Puzzgrid, which offers hundreds of puzzles in the Connections format—but gives you only three minutes to solve them.
(You can always catch up on Only Connect via BBC iPlayer...)
