Structures in Death Stranding 2 can help make your delivery route safer, give you much needed shelter, overcome obstacles and spy on enemies.
In short, they're a really useful thing to know about and use in Death Stranding 2. However, the important thing to remember is that you must be within the Chiral Network to build a structure and can only build something if there's enough Chiral Bandwidth for it - but more on that later.
On that note, here's our Death Stranding 2 structures explainer, including how to build, dismantle and upgrade structures.

How to build structures in Death Stranding 2
To build structures in Death Stranding 2 you need a PCC. A PCC is an item you can craft through fabrication at a terminal - you'll get access to your first PCC item data after delivering the Remote Medical Units to Villa Libre in Episode 1.
To fabricate a PCC Lv1 you'll need 30 Resins and 30 Metals. Remember, you can fabricate at most delivery terminals.
Once you've got a PCC in your inventory (and have it on Sam's person when you're out in the field), head to the place you want to establish a structure then hold down the right directional pad button to open your Weapon/Tools menu and select the PCC from your 'Tools' option.
At this point, you'll be able to choose which structure you want to build. For example, with our level 1 PCC we chose a watchtower.
Now, in the bottom left corner of the image of your structure in the center of your menu you'll be shown how much Chiral Bandwidth it will take to build the structure. If you're happy with using this Bandwidth, then select continue when highlighting your structure.
When you've picked your structure, aim with L2 to decide where it will go and you can build it with R2 as long as it's hologram outline is blue (if its red, there's an obstruction). Some structures, like bridges, will have extra commands when building them so it's good to pay attention to those.
How to upgrade structures in Death Stranding 2
To upgrade structures in Death Stranding 2 you need to walk up to any one you've built and interact with the terminal at it. Then, select the 'contribute materials' option to open up a sub menu where you'll see the materials you'll need for the next upgrade, what the upgrade will do, and you can also contribute any required materials in this section too.
Once you've contributed the right amount of materials, the chosen structure will receive an upgrade!
How to dismantle structures in Death Stranding 2
To dismantle structures in Death Stranding 2 you need to walk up to any one you've built and interact with the terminal at it. Then, select the 'dismantle structure' option, confirm you want to do this and the structure will be dismantled, freeing up more of the Chiral Bandwidth.
That's all for now! If you're looking for more Death Stranding 2 help, check out our pages showing you how to stop Timefall, how to restore endurance and stamina, and how to get Chiral Crystals.
