Browse All PEAK Guides the game PEAK isn’t filled with traditional survival enemies and monsters, but a few creatures will make your climb harder. Some are minor annoyances, others can end your run completely if you’re not careful.
Bees
Bees appear near beehives in the jungle biome.
If you get close, the hive activates and bees will chase and poison you. Their speed and chase time are unpredictable. Some are slow and give up quickly, others feel endless.
You cannot fight back, so your best move is to run in wide circles until they give up or bug out. Climbing while being chased is a bad idea since it slows you down.
In co-op, one player can bait the bees while others loot the hive.
Scoutmaster
The Scoutmaster is the most dangerous enemy in PEAK.
This giant entity chases players who either summon it using the Scoutmaster’s Bugle, or trigger it by climbing too far ahead of teammates during a group run. It appears suddenly and will lock on to the player who broke formation.
There is no way to defeat the Scoutmaster.
It chases for about a minute and then disappears. During that time, you’ll have to run and survive. Triggering it also unlocks the Mentorship Badge and gives the Inverted Eyes cosmetic, whether it’s summoned manually or shows up on its own.
If you're playing solo and use the bugle, your stamina goes to max... but the Scoutmaster comes as the cost.
Tick
Ticks are small parasites that latch onto your leg and poison you over time.
You won’t always notice them until poison stacks start. If you're solo, crouch and interact to remove them yourself.
In co-op, your friends can spot them and pull them off for you... or you can do the same if you see one on a teammate.
After removing a tick, you can eat it. It counts as one of the berries for the Foraging Bond achievement.
Final Blurb
PEAK doesn’t throw waves of enemies at you, but the few creatures that exist serve specific roles. The Scoutmaster punishes players for rushing, bees punish curiosity, and ticks sneak in poison over time.
Watch your step, check your legs, and try not to solo the whole mountain.
