The Honkai: Star Rail 3.4 Banner and event details have been officially announced for the latest patch, titled 'For the Sun is Set to Die' - that's not ominous at all.

In this Honkai: Star Rail update we're getting a new 5-Star character, a new long-term co-op mode, new Wind-type Ascension Material and much more.

Below, you can find out more about these updates, including the exact 3.4 release date and time, who the new characters are, and what the 3.4 Banners and events schedule is for the upcoming patch.

Honkai Star Rail 3.4 release date and time

Honkai Star Rail 3.4 releases on Wednesday 2nd July. It should follow the usual maintenance schedule and release at 4am (BST). Due to time zone differences, 3.4 actually releases in the United States on Tuesday 1st July at 11pm (ET).

For other time zones, the Honkai Star Rail 3.4 release date and time is:

• West Coast US: Tuesday 1st July at 8pm (PT)
• Central US: Tuesday 1st July at 10pm (CT)
• East Coast US:Tuesday 1st July 11pm(ET)
• Japan: Wednesday 2nd July at Midday (JST)
• Australia: Wednesday 2nd July at 1pm (AET)
• UK: Wednesday 2nd July at 4am (BST)
• Europe: Wednesday 2nd July at 5am(CEST)

Honkai Star Rail 3.4 Banners

We now officially know that new 5-Star character Phainon, alongside Tribbie, Sparkle and Sunday are the next banners in Honkai: Star Rail during Phase 1 of version 3.4. Phainon is a new 5-Star Physical character of The Destruction path on his To Evermore Burn as the Sun Banner, Tribbie is a returning 5-Star Quantum character of The Harmony on her Back to Fons et Origo Banner, Sunday is a returning 5-Star Imaginary character of The Harmony on his Gate Upon the Stars Banner and Sparkle is a returning 5-Star Quantum character of The Harmony on her Sparkling Splendor Banner.

All of the boosted 4-Star characters on Phainon, Tribbie, Sunday and Sparkle's next Banners are:

• Tingyu (Lightning, The Harmony)
• March 7th (Ice, The Preservation)
• Yukong (Imaginary, The Hunt)

These version 3.4 Phase 1 Banners start on Wednesday 2nd July and are expected to end on Wednesday 23rd July.

Then in Phase 2 of version 3.4 we have Firefly, Jingliu and Blade. With Firefly a returning 5-Star Fire attacker of The Destruction on her Firefull Flyshine Banner, Jingliu a returning 5-Star Ice attacker of The Destruction on her Gentle Eclipse of the Moon Banner and Blade a returning 5-Star Wind attacker of The Destruction on his A Lost Soul Banner.

All of the boosted 5-Star and 4-Star characters on Firefly, Jinglu and Blade's next Banner are:

• Hanya (Physical, The Harmony)
• Lynx (Quantum, The Abundance)
• Luka (Physical, The Nihility)

These version 3.4 Phase 2 Banners are expected to run from Wednesday 23rd July to Tuesday 12th August.

Now, both Sable and Archer debut in 3.4 as part of Fate/stay night collaboration event Warps that begins on Friday 11th July, just over a week after version 3.4 begins. Archer is a 5-Star Quantum character of The Hunt path and Saber is a 5-Star Wind character of The Destruction path. Both are limited-time characters, but in good news, Archer can be claimed for free by Trailblazers from the beginning of the collaboration event until the end of version 3.6.

In summary, all of the new and returning 5-Star characters you can Warp on during 3.4 are:

• Phainon (To Evermore Burn as the Sun Banner - Phase 1): New 5-Star Physical character of the Destruction path.
• Tribbie (Back to Fons et Origo Banner - Phase 1): Returning 5-Star Quantum character of the Harmony path.
• Sparkle (Sparkling Splendor Banner - Phase 1): Returning 5-Star Quantum character of the Harmony path.
• Sunday (Gate Upon the Stars Banner - Phase 1): Returning 5-Star Imaginary character of the Harmony path.
• Firefly (Firefull Flyshine Banner - Phase 2): - Returning 5-Star Fire character of the Destruction path.
• Jingliu (Gentle Eclipse of the Moon Banner - Phase 2): Returning 5-Star Ice character of the Destruction path
• Blade (A Lost Soul Banner - Phase 2): Returning 5-Star Wind character of the Destruction path.
• Archer: New 5-Star Quantum character of The Hunt path.
• Sable: New 5-Star Wind character of the Destruction path.

In addition to these new characters, we're getting two new 5-Star Light Cones in 3.3's Brilliant Fixation Banner. The 5-Star 'Thus Burns the Dawn', Phainon's signature, will run alongside his character Banner in Phase 1 of version 3.4. Then in Phase 2, the returning 5-Star 'Whereabouts Should Dreams Rest' (Destruction Path), 'I Shall Be My Own Sword' (Destruction Path) and 'The Unreachable Side' (Destruction path) will feature as they are Firefly, Jingliu and Blade's signature Light Cones respectively.

The Honkai: Star Rail 3.4 update includes:

In addition to this, we're getting a limited-time event during the 3.4 update and a brand new long term co-op mode to replace Seal Slammers:

• Origami Bird Clash Official Edition - a returning match 3 arcade game, with a few new game features including eliminating four or more fruits to create bombs and get extra moves by swapping two super bombs for a combo elimination. Trailblazers can also use a multiplayer mode to complete open challenges with friends, and more.
• Origami Bird Clash replaces Seal Slammers - Oriagmi Bird Clash's multiplayer mode will replace Seal Slammer's multiplayer mode and will become the long-term co-op game mode!
