The Google Pixel's camera is a kind of status symbol. When someone sees you using one, you automatically become the go-to photographer for gatherings and events. And where do those photos end up? Naturally, on social media. That’s how we document our lives these days, and the quality and convenience of smartphone cameras play a major role in that process.

Since taking pictures and posting them online go hand-in-hand, it only makes sense to be able to share them instantly. Google anticipated this need and recently rolled out a feature in the Pixel Camera app that allows users to choose up to three preferred social media apps for quick photo sharing. Once configured, all you have to do is take a picture and tap your selected app icon—it really is that straightforward.

Enabling Social Share

To begin using this fast-sharing function, open the Pixel Camera app and go to the main view. Tap the expand icon at the top or perform a downward swipe with one finger. Next, tap the settings icon located in the lower right corner, scroll through the list until you find "Social Share," and select it to proceed.

If necessary, toggle the switch to activate the "Social Share" feature. You’ll now see a list of all compatible sharing apps installed on your device. Since the limit is three apps, choose the ones you use most frequently. Toggle each one on until your top three are selected, and then you’re all set.

Go back to the main screen, switch to the "Camera" tab, and take a photo. Right after capturing the image, an arrow icon will appear above the preview thumbnail in the bottom right corner. Tap the arrow to display the three apps you've chosen. Alternatively, you can simply swipe up on the thumbnail preview of your latest photo.
