Date Everything: How To Use Candies

Jun 18, 2025 am 10:29 AM

In Date Everything, as you go through the process of dating everyone, each Dateable character can lead to one of three possible endings. By carefully observing and interacting with each character, you might achieve all the endings you desire. However, we all occasionally slip up in conversations—this is completely normal.

A single wrong word in Date Everything might not be forgiven easily and could even cause a character to develop hatred toward you. This isn't ideal, especially if your goal was for them to like—or even love—you. Fortunately, this outcome doesn’t have to be permanent. Candies can serve as a useful tool in improving relationships.

What Are Candies Used For?

Date Everything: How To Use Candies

Candies are among the rarer items found in the game, and they aren't really explained until you actually obtain one. Once you do, you might still be unsure how to use it. If you're naturally lucky and well-liked, these candies won't serve much purpose. But if certain characters dislike or hate you, that’s when they become valuable.

When a character hates you, this typically results in a permanent ending unless specific rare events occur. Outside of those rare cases, your only option is to use a Candy. During a conversation with a character who hates you, you'll be given the choice to offer a Candy to repair the damaged relationship.

This will change a Hate ending into a Friends ending. Although it won’t directly upgrade to a Love ending in most situations, it can make things easier. For instance, some polyamorous relationships become more attainable, and your final result may improve slightly.

However, not every Candy works on any character. The types of Candies available correspond to each of the SPECS stats. Therefore, only specific Candies can be used on specific Dateables. For example, Nightmare falls under the Empathy category, so only an Empathy Candy can reverse a Hate ending with them—not any other type.

How Do You Get Candies?

Candies are quite rare and not something anyone explicitly tells you about until you stumble upon one. These items are given to you by Keith, a hidden character. Keith is a Skeleton Key located in a secret area of the house—specifically, the crawlspace. His location is intentionally obscure.

Once you locate Keith, you can talk to him anytime, and he enjoys discussing your SPECS stats. If you reach a certain threshold—roughly 50 points in a particular SPECS stat—he’ll reward you with a Candy corresponding to that stat. If you meet all the requirements, he’ll give you all the Candies at once.

Can You Get More Than One Of Each Candy?

Once you receive a Candy, it's recorded on your SPECS sheet, displayed next to the relevant stat. If you don’t own a Candy, its icon will appear greyed out. As you can see, there's only one slot per Candy type. Does that mean you can only carry one of each?

Exactly. You can only hold one of each Candy at a time, and you can only obtain one of each Candy throughout the entire game. After collecting them all, Keith will inform you that he has no more to give. So once you acquire a Candy, remember—it's the only one you'll ever get. Use it wisely, but don’t hesitate to use it when necessary.
