How to Change the Status Bar Icons on Your Google Pixel
Jun 18, 2025 am 10:13 AMAndroid's status bar is always visible. It appears at the top of nearly every screen across all apps, making it a key visual element of your Pixel's overall appearance. That's why Google offers you the ability to customize the icons it displays.
You're not limited to just changing the status bar icons; you can also switch your system font, select a personalized accent color, and even adjust the shape of your home screen icons. However, this guide will focus specifically on modifying the status bar icons.

Locate the 'Styles & Wallpapers' Menu
Begin by launching the Settings app from your app drawer. From there, tap on "Display" near the top, then select "Styles & wallpapers." On the following screen, ensure that the Style tab is active.
Make Your Own Style
Next, tap the " " button inside the "Custom" card. Depending on your Pixel model, you may need to scroll left or right to find this option.
You'll now go through the process of creating a custom style. If your only goal is to change the status bar icons, leave everything else as it is and simply tap "Next" on the Choose font screen.
Now comes the fun part. Scroll left or right to preview different sets of status bar icons. The central portion of the screen shows how most of your status bar icons will appear with the selected set. Pick the one you prefer and hit "Next."
Once again, if your sole intention was to modify the status bar icons, tap "Next" on both the Choose color and Choose shape screens without making any changes. Optionally give your new style a name, then tap "Apply" on the final screen.
Changing the icon set affects more than just the small icons in the top-right corner of your status bar — it also updates the icons found in your Quick Settings panel.
