How to start Gloom-Borne Illness in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
To begin the Gloom-Borne Illness side quest in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, speak with Lasli in Kakariko Village.
You’ll find her sitting near a fire on the eastern part of Kakariko Village, with approximate coordinates 1908, -1003, 0127. She'll be there even at night, so finding Lasli shouldn’t be an issue.
Lasli will tell you that her grandmother fell ill from the Gloom while assisting the survey team. To help her recover, Lasli is trying to prepare a porridge recipe meant to heal Gloom sickness.
The recipe calls for Hylian rice, fresh milk, and wild greens, but it hasn't worked yet. That's because instead of any random wild greens, you need a specific flower — the Sundelion.
Sundelions locations in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
Sundelions are the special, Gloom-healing ingredients required for the Gloom-Borne Illness side quest in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
These flowers can be found on floating sky islands above Hyrule, though they aren't always easy to locate. We suggest exploring the Great Sky Island or using the Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower in the Akkala Highlands to reach the Sokkala Sky Archipelago.
Once airborne, land on the island containing the Flux Construct II — ensure it’s the section with small ruins — where you’ll easily spot several Sundelions. The exact coordinates for this area are 3779, 1885, 0992.
Another location with three Sundelions is near a small stone at the far end of the Forgotten Temple. However, after collecting all Dragon Tear memories, you may feel reluctant to pick them. These Sundelions are located at coordinates -0995, 2755, -0078.
Where to get Hylian Rice and Fresh Milk in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
Before returning to Lasli to finish Gloom-Borne Illness in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you must gather two other ingredients — Hylian Rice and Fresh Milk.
Luckily, both items can be purchased at the general store in Hateno Village for 12 Rupees each.
You can also buy them from traveling merchants. For instance, Parga walks around Hyrule Field and sells both ingredients for 12 Rupees. Still, these wandering traders might not carry both items at once, so we recommend heading to Hateno’s general store if you don’t already have them.
How to complete Gloom-Borne Illness and rewards in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
With all the ingredients gathered, it’s time to finish the Gloom-Borne Illness side quest in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Return to Lasli and combine Hylian rice, fresh milk, and Sundelion in the cooking pot by her campfire. This creates a Sunny Veggie Porridge — a useful recipe worth remembering since it restores three hearts and helps heal hearts corrupted by the Gloom.
After making the porridge, speak with Lasli and hand it over. She’ll give it to her grandmother, Nanna, completing the quest.
You’ll receive one Energizing Veggie Porridge as a reward, and you’ll notice reduced prices at Kakariko Village’s armor shop.
Clothing prices at Enchanted will now be:
- Stealth Mask - 500 Rupees
- Stealth Chest Guard - 700 Rupees
- Stealth Tights - 600 Rupees
- Radiant Mask - 800 Rupees
- Radiant Shirt - 800 Rupees
- Radiant Tights - 800 Rupees
Additionally, the first time you purchase something from this shop, you’ll obtain the Sheikah Paraglider Fabric.
