How to start Reede's Secret in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

To begin the Reede's Secret side quest in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you must have already started and completed either the Team Cece or Team Reede quest. Once that’s done, locate Reede’s wife, Clavia.

The easiest way to find Clavia is at her and Reede's house located at (3432, -2086, 0131), right beside the Hateno Inn, particularly during nighttime or early morning hours as she's usually there. During the day, she tends to wander around the village, so you may need to search for her.

Talk to her when you find her. She'll tell you that Reede locks himself inside his shed every night working on something secret. She wants you to discover what he’s hiding and gives you two important clues to help you access the shed.

How to complete Reede's Secret in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

To finish Reede's Secret in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you need to sneak into Reede's shed while he isn't around.

From Clavia, you now know that entering through the front door won’t work and that Reede is never inside at noon. Before proceeding further, place a map pin directly over Reede's Shed—it will come in handy later.

To reach Reede's Shed, head to the Hateno Village North Well, which is located north of Reede’s house. If you look for the field where two goats are grazing, you'll find the well nearby.

Image credit: Eurogamer/NintendoOnce you reach the well, drop inside and look west. You'll see a series of boulders blocking your path. Use Ultrahand to clear them away (or fuse one to a weapon if preferred).

After removing the boulders, continue forward until you receive a notification that you've entered Hateno West Well. Don’t worry—you’re heading in the correct direction.

Arriving at the pool area, follow the tunnel ahead and around until you encounter another large pile of rocks blocking the passage. At this point, move to these specific coordinates (3413, -2083, 0104).

If you placed a map pin earlier, you’ll notice you’re directly beneath Reede’s Shed. Now, make sure it’s exactly noon. If not, build a fire and wait until midday.

At noon, use the Ascend ability to rise straight up into Reede's Shed. If timed correctly, he won’t be present. If you arrive too early or late, he’ll catch you and throw you out.

Once inside and the shed is empty, read the diary entry on the desk. Then exit through the main door and return to Clavia. Inform her of what you discovered, and she’ll reward you with 10 tasty Hylian Tomatoes.
