How to find King Dorephan in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

To start the search for King Dorephan in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, make your way to the Throne Room inside Zora's Domain. We've pinpointed its exact location on the map below, with the Zora Throne Room coordinates at (3334, 0536, 0163.)

Upon arrival, you'll notice three Zora kids playing a game in the room. This game, however, holds more significance than it seems. You need to listen in on their conversation to uncover the next clue regarding King Dorephan's whereabouts.

How to listen to Zora kids in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

Now, you must get close enough to hear the Zora kids without being seen. If they notice you, they’ll chase you away, forcing you to try again from a different angle.

While there may be multiple ways to sneak up on them, here’s the method we found most effective.

Position yourself just outside the Throne Room entrance and look to your left.

You should see a waterfall or stream nearby. Enter the water and follow the path around the left side, carefully climbing along the ledge when necessary.

Eventually, you’ll reach a larger, more stable stream. Follow this until you arrive behind the back portion of the Throne Room at coordinates (3335, 0565, 0161.)

Turn around and face the Throne Room, then climb onto the rear section of the throne so that your view looks like this:

Carefully climb up and slide down into the pool below.

Once in the water, quietly swim toward the ledge directly behind the Zora children. When you’re close enough, a prompt will appear on screen. At this point, press 'A' to begin eavesdropping on their conversation and learn more about where King Dorephan might be hiding.

After listening in on the Zora kids, you’ll discover that King Dorephan is hiding somewhere in "Clean Water," between Ploymus Mountain and Zora's Domain, behind a hidden entrance. More precisely, you now know that you can find King Dorephan in the Pristine Sanctum behind a waterfall east of Zora's Domain.

In Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, King Dorephan resides in the Pristine Sanctum. It lies east of Zora's Domain and also east of Mipha Court. We’ve marked its exact location on the map below, and the coordinates are (3664, 0598, 0204).

To reach King Dorephan in the Pristine Sanctum, head to the waterfall located in Mikau Lake (we've marked it on the map below for easier navigation).

This next part requires some stamina. You must swim through the waterfall.

Once you pass through, you’ll find a secret entrance to the Pristine Sanctum on the other side.

Inside this hidden area, you’ll see another waterfall at the back. If you already possess the Zora Armor, simply swim upward through this waterfall to enter the Pristine Sanctum.

If you don’t yet have the armor, walk behind the waterfall near the secret entrance until you're beneath an overhang. Then use the Ascend ability to rise through the floor and enter the Pristine Sanctum.

Once inside, you’ll find King Dorephan waiting. Speak to him to receive several special items that will aid you in the next phase of this main story quest.
