You must do these steps in order or the elevator will stay broken.
Here’s what to do to complete the showroom elevator puzzle.
Listen to Mrs. Helpful to Get the Code
You’ll want to turn the machine on and listen to Mrs. Helpful. She’ll essentially narrate your instructions the entire way, and will tell you to first get the cassette tape.
Get the Repair Cassette
Once the Go to the second-floor balcony on the side opposite the elevator, in the Welcome Lobby.
Look for a red box on the wall with a number pannel, and enter the code 0158 to unlock the repair cassette.
Once you get the cassette, head back to the Repair-Matic and listen to it to start the repair process.
Start the Showroom Elevator Repair
Per Mrs. Helpful’s instructions:
- Turn off the power using the switch near the elevator.
- Check the machinery and remove anything blocking it (e.g. the elephant head).
- Use the hand crank to lift the elevator by turning it clockwise.
- Once the elevator is raised, you can go underneath it.
Use the Emergency Brake
- Go under the elevator and find the emergency brake lever.
- Pull the brake so it stays in place during the repair.
This step must be done before doing the alignment.
Fix the Alignment
- Use the slider controls to move the orange marker into the green zones.
This balances the elevator. The repair won’t work unless this part is done right.
Input the Elevator Code
- After aligning it, use the red buttons near the repair panel in corresponding order with the number they connect to below the alignment tubes
- Press them in this order: 1234
- This will run the diagnostic and repair function.
Finish the Repair and Complete the Elevator Puzzle
- Release the emergency brake.
- Close the hatch and turn the power back on.
Now the elevator will work again and can take you to the Big Top Showroom floor.
Final Blurb
The elevator in Secret of the Mimic is part of a full puzzle, not just a simple switch. If you skip a step, it stays broken.
