There are a variety of new shows and movies available now. As usual, despite being on the road (and nearly home), I’ve searched high and low across the web for the top new streaming content and put together this convenient guide for you. This weekend is significant due to the conclusion of several major shows. While there may not be as much fresh content, what is available can be found below.

Tudum 2025 (Netflix)

This differs slightly from the typical shows and movies I feature, but since it relates to upcoming Netflix content, I believe it’s worth mentioning. Tudum is Netflix’s annual live event allowing viewers to preview new trailers, hear celebrities discuss their projects, and gain insights into significant announcements, release dates, and more. The event streams on Netflix on Saturday May 31 at 5:00 p.m. PT/8:00 p.m. ET.

Dept. Q (Netflix)

A mismatched group of individuals investigates cold cases from an Edinburgh basement in *Dept Q*, a new mystery set in the beautiful Scottish city. Having spent several days in Edinburgh, this show is a must-watch for me. The series is adapted from the novels by Jussi Adler-Olsen and stars Matthew Goode as Carl Morck, an emotionally damaged detective leading the investigations; and Kelly Macdonald, a police therapist. It looks fantastic.

And Just Like That – Season 3 (HBO Max)

It’s amusing that we’re already into the third season of *Sex and The City* spinoff *And Just Like That*, and I had no idea it existed. I guess I wasn’t a huge *Sex and the City* fan – I think I watched the first season and didn’t continue, just not my style – which explains my ignorance. In any case, Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw and her friends are back for more sex and more city this weekend.

The Wild Robot (Netflix)

If you're searching for a great family movie this weekend, look no further than *The Wild Robot.* Not only does this film boast some of the most stunning animation I’ve ever seen, it’s also full of heart. The story follows a lost robot who finds herself on a remote wilderness island and soon befriends the animals there, raising an orphaned gosling along the way. It’s genuinely delightful and one of the best movies of 2024.

Lost In Starlight (Netflix)

This Korean animated film follows a pair of star-crossed lovers in a long-distance relationship that spans the stars – or at least the distance between Seoul, Korea in 2050 and Mars. It’s great to see more Korean animation appearing on Netflix.

Karate Kid: Legends (In Theaters)

Unfortunately, *Karate Kid: Legends* – which stars Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan, as well as Ben Wang as the new Karate Kid – is only at 59% on Rotten Tomatoes. That’s “Rotten” as far as these things go, but it also makes it the third best-reviewed film in the franchise behind *Karate Kid* and the 2010 *Karate Kid* reboot. This might be a fun one for *Cobra Kai* fans, though a part of me wonders if the right move for a film would have been a new movie with Xolo Maridue?a’s Miguel and William Zabka’s Johnny Lawrence, focusing on a new tournament and a slimmed down Cobra Kai cast. Maybe next time . . . .

The Handmaid’s Tale Series Finale (Hulu)

Now that we’re at the very end of *The Handmaid’s Tale* on Hulu, a part of me is eager to revisit the series just to see how it concludes. I stopped after Season 4 and each time I attempt to start Season 5, I just can’t bring myself to do it. From what I’ve heard, I’m really not missing much. Still . . . I hate to leave things unresolved. What do you all think, dear readers?
