In a post on Twitter (X) dated May 17, they explained that "DRM has been meticulously adjusted to ensure the same average frame rate, with even higher minimum frames in some instances."

DRM serves as an anti-tamper measure to thwart unauthorized duplication and distribution of games, complicating efforts to pirate and distribute cracked versions. Denuvo, a form of DRM, has sparked controversy over its impact on game performance.

SHIFT UP shared outcomes from their performance evaluations, which demonstrated the game's performance both with and without DRM. Their data indicated that the average framerate, minimum framerate, maximum framerate, 1% low framerate, and 0.1% low framerate were nearly identical in both scenarios.

Moreover, the game fully supports modding without limitations, an aspect often hindered by DRM. The community has praised SHIFT UP for their openness, yet many wish they would eliminate Denuvo to enhance the game's accessibility.

Addressing Region Lock Challenges

Another issue raised by fans regarding Stellar Blade's PC launch is the region lock associated with PlayStation. Although the game does not mandate a PlayStation Network (PSN) connection, it remains inaccessible in certain global regions due to lack of PSN support.
