Apr 02, 2025 am 01:09 AMXenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition's "Weaponized" Quest Guide
Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition features numerous party members, many of whom share an enthusiasm for Skells (mechs). This guide details the "Weaponized" Affinity mission, focusing on efficient completion. Note that you may not own a Skell yet when this quest becomes available.
The quest, introduced by the Skell-obsessed Alexa, takes you beyond NLA to test new Skells (though not your own). Here's how to complete it efficiently:
Starting the Weaponized Mission
The "Weaponized" mission begins in NLA's Industrial District, specifically the Outfitter's Test Hangar. Prerequisites include:
- Completing Chapter Four ("The Ganglion Menace").
- Reaching at least level 17.
- Accepting the "Guinea Pigs Wanted!" Basic Mission from Mission Control.
This is an Affinity Mission; you can't start other Story or Affinity missions until it's finished. Speak to Alexa in the Hangar to begin. The initial task involves a relatively easy Skell battle, followed by a conversation with Tika, who provides the Ramjet Rifle. You'll then need to defeat enemies in Sylvalum using this rifle.
To Agree or Object to Alexa's Plan?
After acquiring the Ramjet Rifle, travel to Sylvalum (easily reached by going north from Primordia). Many enemies here are lower level, but some are level 30-40. Avoid them if possible. Keep the Ramjet Rifle equipped on an active party member to register defeated enemies.
In Sylvalum, you'll face a choice: agree or object to Alexa's suggestion to fight a larger, tougher enemy. The choice doesn't alter the rewards, but agreeing significantly increases the difficulty. Objecting only requires defeating five Trump Papils; agreeing adds a much tougher Trump Arenatect.
Tips for Fighting the Trump Arenatect (if you choose to agree):
- Use your strongest party members and equipment.
- Prioritize TP gain abilities.
- Utilize Overdrive and Skells (if available) for maximum damage.
- Beware of level 99 Tyrants; they only attack if you're in a Skell.
After defeating the chosen enemies, return to Tika for your rewards: the Ramjet Rifle (a souvenir, despite its low combat effectiveness), Alexa as a party member, 15,000 credits, and 240 EXP.
The Ramjet Rifle's Unique Trait
While seemingly weak (low ammo, long cooldown, no upgrades), the Ramjet Rifle excels at TP gain, crucial for Tension Arts and Overdrive. Its TP gain is slightly lower in the Definitive Edition compared to the original game.
