There are numerous different items, resources, and weapons in Dune: Awakening. As you progress through the game, you'll likely end up with duplicates of some items while spending countless hours searching for others. This is where the Exchange becomes invaluable in Dune: Awakening.
The Exchange, also known as the CHOAM Exchange, functions as an open marketplace where all players can engage in buying and selling activities with each other. Here, you have the option to spend Solari on a wide variety of items or even earn extra by selling off surplus resources you don't need. But how exactly does it work? Below is everything you need to know about using the Exchange in Dune: Awakening.
What Is The Exchange?
As previously stated, the Exchange is a vast virtual marketplace located on Arrakis. Within this space, you can trade goods with other players, rather than only through vendors.
Where Is The Exchange?
In Dune: Awakening, there are two designated locations where you can access the Exchange.
- Arrakeen
- Harko Village
To arrive at either location, you must hire an Ornithopter Pilot, which costs 2,500 Solari.
Arrakeen Exchange Location
In Arrakeen, you’ll find the Exchange near the entrance. Just climb the stairs and turn left.
You will recognize it by the CHOAM Exchange symbol displayed outside the door.
Harko Village Exchange Location
Within Harko Village, the Exchange is positioned toward the rear of the map. Follow the central road until you reach the back of the village.
Look for the CHOAM Exchange symbol situated in the middle of the square.
How To Use The Exchange
Once inside the Exchange building, make your way to one of the Exchange Terminals placed along the walls.
At this point, you'll be able to access the Exchange UI, which enables you to do the following:
- Buy Items
- Sell Items
- Track Active Orders
How To Buy Items
Purchasing items is fairly straightforward.
Use the UI on the left side of the screen to look for specific items you're interested in, or browse through what other players are offering.
Just select the items you wish to buy, assuming you have enough Solari to cover the cost.
How To Sell Items
To sell items, switch to the 'Sell Items' tab. From here, simply choose the item you'd like to put up for sale.
The most profitable items to sell on the Exchange are typically spice, vehicles, and rare resources.
Players early in the game might not have access to these, so if you’re rich in spice, consider entering the spice market.
After selecting your item, a menu will appear allowing you to adjust the following settings:
- Price Per Unit
- Quantity To Sell
- Duration
Price and quantity are self-explanatory, but you also have the option to set how long the item remains listed, ranging from one to 14 real-world days.
Bear in mind that you must have Solari deposited with the CHOAM Exchange to cover the transaction fees, which are shown beneath the duration setting.
To deposit Solari, go to the front desk in each CHOAM Exchange and speak with the teller.
Finally, you can switch to the 'My Orders' tab at the top of the screen to view any items currently for sale and check their status.
